Easy New Years Eve Clam Dip

This recipe is a staple at our house for our New Years Eve party. I know the "clam" part may turn off the non-seafooders, but i promise even the picky fish haters at my house love it. Just Add Lays Ruffle Potato Chips and some Diet coke and you'll be in heaven.

Holiday Fun

This past week has been crazy and so much fun. As soon as finals end, its officially my favorite time of year. Family, Shopping, Movies, Cuddling under the Christmas Tree, Sleeping in, Cooking, Eating, Cooking and Eating. There is nothing better. On Friday we headed to downtown Salt Lake to go to the Annual Vanguard Christmas Party at the Joseph Smith Building. It was fun to see everyone from the office that i hadn't seen in a while and meet the new employees. The view from our room in the Joseph Smith building was so pretty with all the lights and the temple right out our window. After lots of games and white elephant... We headed home and watched "The Help".

Yesterday My parents celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary!... They left to celebrate for the day and we all went shopping at the outlets in PC. It was Freezing cold but a successful shopping trip!! After we met up with mom and dad for dinner at Squatters Grill in PC And Saw the new Mission Impossible {Ghost Protocol} . Its Amazing!

Mrs. Claus {Ideas for Him}

We're 5 DAYS AWAY from Christmas! I can't believe it. It does not feel like Christmas to me quite yet so I'm hoping for a serious snow day. Maybe that will do the trick??... The only thing that makes it a little more realistic is the crazy amount of shopping I've been doing lately. This is probably the only time of year a girl gets to shop on a daily basis {that I'll admit to my husband at least}and i love love love it! Having said all that, it may be easy to shop til you drop for girls like yourself who you can pick out scarves, makeup, purses, shoes, jewelry, etc etc etc all things you know they'll love because you Love them as well. However, I have all men in my family and shopping for the boys every year is a constant struggle. Literally! Why is it they are so hard to shop for? So I've thoroughly researched all my boys this year {ages 18-old} and thought i should share some good ideas...

1-Black and Decker Drill Bit Set {Walmart 5$}
2-No Fog Shower Mirror {Bedbathbeyond 40$}
3-Acqua Di Gio Cologne {Sephora 98$}

Holiday Decor

The Closer we get to the holidays, the more and more hectic life seems to become! With Finals closely approaching i haven't even had a chance to finish my own christmas tree. So i finally decided to take a break from the books and show some quick and easy decor ideas that I love.

This past Weekend we met my family in salt lake to go to the Festival of Trees at the Southtown Expo Center. It was CRAZY!!!! There were so many people and so many trees. Not to mention strollers to navigate around. Despite the crowds i love going to see the new trends, get decor ideas and smell the yummy scones. I managed to snap pictures of a few of my favorite trees.

This was Definatley the most popular tree at the festival! The "Up" Tree. Notice the Balloon house topper. So Cute.

This tree is amazing in person. The picture does not even do it justice!

Even though i havent been able to splurge and go all out on christmas decorations this year... I was able to help my mama go all out! I am pretty proud of her cute Tree. Its worth the time to have a tree that looks like you cared about it!

Its a little blurry, but you can get the idea.

Pinspiration of a Feathery whimsical wreath caught my eye months ago and i just could not let it go. I had to try it, and the best part is it took me a whole 15 Minutes!

What you'll Need:
A Styrofoam Ring ( 12.99 - I used 14x4 @ Hobby Lobby. Any Size works but I think the bigger the better) My ring was Green to start out with. I attempted to spray paint it white but the styrofoam wouldnt take well. I suggest bypassing the spray paint and just finding a white foam if youre worried about color showing through.

3 Feather Boas (6.99 White @hobby lobby)

Ribbon you love (3.00 Silver Sparkle @ Walmart)
Hot Glue gun

After Wrapping the Boa around the Foam, secure ends with a small amount of hot glue. You can try tacs or pins but my boa was too thick to hold. Then Add your Pretty Ribbon and VOILA!! Cheap and Fast Whimsical Pretty Wreath. Also Add twinkley White Lights for Nighttime or dress it up with ornaments, ribbon, Monogram etc. I love the simple feather fullness for now.

One of My favorite things this year is the variety of Decor you can create without spending an arm and a leg. These are some of my favorite. They are so classy and elegant.

And of Course... what kind of Christmas would it be without some animal print :)

Happy Decorating!

Birthday Weekend

So This past weekend was my 22nd birthday {old!}, and i don't know about you... but in my family we celebrate all week long. Ever since i can remember, when its your birthday you get privilages that the rest of the family doesnt: No dish duty, "Mental Health" day off school, Dinner Menu decisions, Restaurant picks, Front seat, Everything and anything that matters right? :) Needless to say, This past week i got spoiled. My cute husband decided to do something small each day of the week.

DAY 1
Best of the Cosbys Dvd. One of my favorite shows of all time

DAY 2
Golden Spoon. My almost icecream {without the calories}

DAY 3
Leapoard print flats

DAY 4
A Helmet. {not for me :)}I've had nightmares of Cory getting hit on his way to school on his scoot scoot. This helmet will keep me from becoming a widow!

DAY 5
"Secrets to a happy Marriage" Advice we gathered at all my showers. Put together on a flip ring so we can always refer back to them.

DAY 6
Bootsies!!! Grey and i love them

DAY 7
Pinterest Print outs Framed and ready to hang.

After School was out on friday we headed up to kaysville to celebrate with the family. Friday night we froze our tushys off at Jakes Homecoming Football Game and then went to a late night showing of "MoneyBall". It was such a good movie. I fell in love with the previously chubby actor who plays 'Peter Brand'. What is it about chubby that makes you just melt?? I've never quite figured it out but i just have such a softy heart for the chubs.

Jakes Homecoming Game

 My Jakey is #12------->>>
I LOVE HIM!

On saturday i crawled out of bed at 8 am to get my hair done. Turns out going/maintaining blonde isnt the best idea when youre trying to save money {I need to look into Hairschool}! Then we headed to Fashion Place Mall to go to my favorite restaurant of all time, The Cheesecake Factory. After eating way too much, we did what ever girl wants on her birthday...  Shopped. Fashion place is such a great mall and soon to be even better with H&M coming in November. I can not wait! As you can imagine, shopping with 4 Men isnt easy or fun. So, We sent the boys home in a seperate car to watch football while we finished. After Jake left for the homecoming dance {above},  The rest of us watched more football, ordered Chinese and lounged around in sweatpants.

I Love October! The fall weather, Halloween, fall clothes {are the cutest clothes i think}, pumpkins, Costume Parties.. It is my favorite month.

Pinterest

Its official. I am a Pinterest addict! Since we have been married i have constantly been online searching cute craft ideas, decorating how-tos and new recipes to attempt. Well, no longer. Pinterest is now my new best friend for all of it and more. I love the idea of saving "pins i love" to a board that i can always refer back to. This week i found some quotes that i LOVE.. now i just need to figure out how to frame or stencil these somewhere in my new house.

BBBbbbb...Boyack

We've been married over 4 months now and i STILL can't say my last name without stuttering. I was so excited to keep the B and now I think it throws me off even more. I cant believe how fast time flies. It feels like just yesterday i was ditching class with Kaylee & my Mama ( Well, Mom didn't know i was ditching ) to go shop for wedding nick-knacks, and now were approaching our 6 month anniversary. Crazy!

I've learned a lot of things since May 7th, like...
I shop for entertainment/enjoyment
I am not use to being alone. ever.
I hate being told what to do
Don't worry! I am learning how to fix (or adjust) all of these. Mostly the shopping one :)

Overall, i have figured out that with a lot of communication, patience, and love, marriage is so fun. I hate cheesy stuff.. but my husband treats me like a queen. I LOVE my choice and i couldn't have asked for a better man.

After our perfect little wedding, we ran off the Panama Beach Florida. Cory's mission mom Sister Rohm gave us the most generous wedding gift & let us use her condo on the beach for the entire week. It was so nice to lay around and do absolutely nothing  We lounged at the beach, had some really yummy sea food (Well...I did. Cory is a chicken) and slept and slept and slept. Thanks Sister Rohm!!! We love you!!!

Pretty view from our room

 Best restaurant there

Look! Already Compromising. Cory had to see his games :)

My Cute Husband in our cute condo

Browsing the docks before our dinner cruise... THIS is what we found! Yuck

Boarding the Lady Anderson

 A very intoxicated woman took this picture. She is the first thing i think of when i see this picture. Instead of  "1 2 3 say cheese"... she said " 1 2 3 GET CRUNK!"

 Oh and did i mention we ran into LIL JOHN at the airport on our way home?? Ok "ran into" is an understatement. I might have stalked him a little. I saw him and said "Cory lil john just went into the bathroom!!!"... After convincing him i was serious, we patiently waited for him to come out and casually ran to catch up with him. Cory finally got a picture and the whole time all i was thinking "i should have put on makeup today!"
